About Crosspoint

Since our foundation in 2004 Crosspoint has focussed on providing tailor made data centre solutions rather than a “one size fits all” approach.  Our philosophy is to design our services so they don’t break, avoiding single points of failure as we know our customers rely on us and we in turn hate it when things go wrong.  In the ethos of doing a few things well we concentrate our efforts on three key and closely related areas of competency:

Colocation and data centre services

Crosspoint either provide managed colocation space on its own, especially in Telehouse and primarily for wholesale customers or if clients wish with some form of network solution if required, including access to our multihomed IP platform.  Customers range from 1U up to several cabinets and from large international carriers through to small ASP or VoIP operators amongst others.  We have extensive experience of the data centre industry going back to 1999 and as a result our colocation customers avoid many of the typical installation problems that can arise and have the benefit of our ongoing support once live.  Our industry knowledge also allows us to offer a unique set of products and solutions from our diverse range of facilities using Telehouse Docklands, Woking and Bracknell.

Dedicated servers

Crosspoint have operated a range of dedicated servers for a wide variety of clients including international financial trading companies through to small web development teams.  At present we are focussing on the Dell platforms where we have found a happy medium between quality and pricing.  Our own experience in providing fully managed hosting solutions gives us a deep pool of hands-on practical experience from which to draw and provide a consultancy service in the design and implementation stage.  We are familiar with both open source and Windows operating systems.

Bespoke Solutions

Our market knowledge and industry experience gives us the ability to create specialist data centre solutions where required.  Recent examples include:

  • Providing multiple data centre locations under a single contract to a customer wishing to distribute equipment across multiple facilities in the UK
  • Dual data centre solutions linking both Telehouse Docklands with Bracknell
  • The installation and management of a dedicated multihomed IP platform for one customer tired of dealing with network providers and needing improved reliability

Team

As a small team the Crosspoint approach is personable and accountable. We work closely with our customers and are always on hand to grow and support their businesses, an approach that allows our customers to often develop from small start-ups to larger, established companies.  This is not to say we don’t work with large organisations; see our customer list.  We understand the issues of small businesses first hand and our own entrepreneurial mindset is often seen as an effective and vital outsourced IT department for many of our clients.
